I don't know if Europe will be enough but one thing's for sure with a more affordable SKU I don't see this trend of sales ending anytime soon here.
As for Japan I would wait for the 40Go to be introduced 40,000 Y it's a more acceptable price range for many japanese people.
US wise Sony will primarily push the 40Go as a BR player so sales might pick up a litlle these next weeks. All in all I think the PS3 will do good this holiday season. So we might just want to wait a little before acting as doom-mongers.
