Radiant Dawn is my favorite Fire Emblem because there are so many characters to use and so much EXP to collect. Almost got 1,600 level ups on a single playthrough.

EDIT: I also like that most characters usually max out several of their stats, unlike in prevoius FEs when it used to be one or two.

This from the man that complains that JRPG's have too many playable characters and that 3 characters in the same party at the same time is more useful.

In reference to your favorite PS2 JRPG thread.

JRPGs with more characters than the size of the actual party can hold, are usually filled with useless characters you'll never use unless you must for storyline purposes. That's why I prefer JRPGs with less characters.

Radiant Dawn has the biggest cast of any FE, but surprisingly it has also the lowest number of useless characters. Well okay, most of the Laguz aren't good, but since I am not a fan of those characters, it never bothered me that they are rather useless. Also, JRPGs and SRPGs are different, so what I like about one genre isn't necessarily the case for the other genre.

Non-Royal laguz were kind of useless in that game, but the number of royals against non-royals was basically even, and you had a lot of access to them. (also the wolf, Nailah's associate, who's name eludes me atm, he acted like a royal even if he wasn't).

No, they weren't useless. They come in hilariously overleveled, so if you don't BEXP the weak Beorc, you can BEXP the herons. A level 30 heron fills the gauge, and keeps 2-3 Laguz active in a battle. Considering you'll hardly ever access more than that, that's enough.

If you don't feel like that, you can use an entire 8pack of Olivigrass a map, and still use less money than a Beorc. They're not useless at all, except that a few are in the endgame.

And Volug had a skill that made his stats multiply by 1.5, rather than 2, but always enable him to halfshift. He didn't act as a Royal.

nintendo should release both the GC and Wii FE games in a bundle so i could get into the series, shame on them for not encouraging the customer to try their games.

I don't really understand what you're talking about.

You do realize you can play Radiant Dawn with no knowledge of Path of Radiance and enjoy it quite a lot right?

but i've read that it's a sequel to that game, with the same characters, why wouldn't i want to try them both.

The Wii can read Gamecube discs. Simply buy Path of Radiance. I played FE10 first, and found it to be one of my top 10 games ever, yet knowing nothing about Fire Emblem.
