of course you're not alone, but your logic is flawed. SMB games have always been single player masterpieces. This one takes that and adds coop as a bonus.
Look at those levels in the tons of videos, coop is going to be really fun, but the levels definitely look complicated enough to give any single person a good challenge. In fact, I've been considering the idea that the reason Nintendo added that "cheat" functionality to skip parts was because its too hard to play without coop.
I'm looking forward to it.
