Why? Just being roughly equal is pretty amazing in the US IMHO. I fully expected the 360 version to outsell PS3 unless a fair amount of new PS3 purchasers made Batman their initial gaming choice - which may have contributed I guess.
I never saw the Joker influencing anyone but a small minority of dual console owners or people about to buy - no 360 owner was going to buy a PS3 just to get this game and the Joker (or at least not enough to matter appart from some total Batman obsessives).
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
