But i kinda understand why they didn't make the MP3 saves cross-compatible, since they seem to have heavily altered the system of achievements (and they removed those stupid achievements that required you to have WiiConnect24 Friends send you medals)

Online connectivity should never be required in any game to get everything.

I'm not 100% on that, since i haven't bothered to check the reward list requirements, but you earned green medals in MP3 by killing certain numbers of enemies, and i haven't run across a single green medal yet anyway.
