Gotta give it to nintendo. They make excellent hardware.

Yes, I agree and kudos. And even more important for a kids dominated console (should be relatively sturdy).

But, also with less complex and advanced hardware there are fewer things to go wrong.

For example a simple single tasking operating system vs an advanced multi-tasking operating system.

Also the Wii is mostly an upgraded GameCube by design, so produces less heat/cooling issues and the hardware is better tested (less risky for the manufacturer).

You've got a point there but personally I think that if a company takes the time to engineer powerful hardware, they should also take the time to ensure that it's reliable so I dont buy that excuse. Broken consoles are of no use to anyon.

When your ps3 has broken twice, you see things differently. As for the 360, I dont even know anyone who has one and never got an RRoD.

However, I've never heard of anyone with a broken wii.

Are you going to add that the Wii isn't exactly cutting edge technology?

I didn't see much of an issue with the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube breaking either.
