So DSi is 8th Generation?

Generations are defined by time, not graphics whores. This is not up for debate. It never has been.

That said  would consider the DSi part of this generation because i's an update of existing hardware...even if it does have exclusive games.

ok, so PSP GO, PS3 Slim and DSi are NEXT GEN because they're/will be launched in 2009. OK, i get your point. Also, brazilian Zeebo is next gen as well as Chinese Vii

but PSP GP, PS3 slim, and DSi are remodels of the same generation, so it doesn't apply.

None of them are new products, it's the same product with a different shell and some minor changes in features.

The next generation starts when the companies say it starts (ie, release a brand new stand alone system).
