As part of one of Wadas big 'calm people about FFXIII' announcements a couple weeks ago, he also made some statements and projections about SE in the upcoming fiscal year. And one of them was that he [referring to the company] didn't see them getting to an international release of DQIX until sometime 'next year' (which would be sometime after March).
So if anything, chalk this up to another 'we don't care' from SE of Japan concerning Dragon Quest.
