wasnt Parasite Eve based on a movie? that would be kind of hard to just keep making itterations of. I have played some of the game but havent seen the movie(s) so i wouldnt really know.

I love the Grandia with Ryudo and thought the story was really good. Too bad it was really short and u had a very small number of party members(that bugged me for some reason).
