It would be nice not to ignore some less hyped shooters, such as Bioshock and Left 4 Dead. Also, forgetting PC games is unforgivable (though ignoring them wouldn't be so quite as much).

Yeah it seems so. I've read somewhere that Half Life 2 sold about 10 million copies for the Pc version but I have no clue whether it is HD or not. |
...Pretty much every 3D PC game is HD if you have a PC powerful enough. And it doesn't take much to run older games in HD or even FullHD or more. I've been running the first Half-Life at 1680x1050, the limiting factor being my monitor. (And it's nice to keep in mind that even the first Half-Life sold more than most console games, definitely including Killzone 2) Nowadays, the minimum resolution for PC games is probably something like 800x600, whereas 1280x1024 is pretty common (720p is 1280x720 by the way). Also, anything that's at least 720p can be considered HD to me.

/facepalm
We're talking native resolutions here, not (up)scaled. Did you know that Wolfenstein 3D runs at 2560x2048, and that's even more than FullHD?

This message was a response to a guy claming he was running CS at 1600x1200. Anyway, it's not upscaled. It may not be originally meant to be rendered at 1600x1200 but it's definitely a native resolution. It just happens to look ugly because everything else is pretty undetailed (textures, maps, etc.). But it's still a native resolution.
Every time there's a thread about a game's resolution, it comes down to people telling it's 720p or 1080p or something else it says on the box. People, please try to understand that an upscaled resolution is not the same thing as a native resolution. A native resolution is a resolution at which the game is actually rendered and then possibly upscaled to some other resolution, like 720p.
