I'd work on making some of the the more time-intensive genres more accessible.

Final Fantasy VII was able to give the RPG phobic the experience that those gamers were unable to see in the 8-bit and 16-bit games.*

So if Nintendo made an RPG more accessible (find a way to not make following the story and gameplay so time intensive for one), they could actually make a game that tops Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.

Or an accessible FPS. As many have mentioned, Halo and Gears are more accessible than many FPS before them, and even before that, Goldeneye and Doom were pretty simple to get into.

Imagine Nintendo finding a way to make an FPS for everybody (or damn close).

* This is coming from an RPG player from the NES and SNES, so I'm not trying to put those down. I actually put Chrono Trigger as my top RPG, Super Mario RPG in my top 5, and Crystalis (NES version only) in my top 5 action RPGs.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
