I've seen 30 year old grown ass men with families turn into fanboys in a split second... it's more of a mindset and maturity level than an actual age you grow out of. The reason we have fanboys is the same reason we have car fanatics that will not buy anything not ford or chevy or dodge, all three provide similar services, the only difference is the name and people that follow them.
People have a need for justification with anything they do or don't do, what they buy turns into a label for them, they identify with the product brand name, when you buy Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft brand you're buying all the social connotations that come with it, you're like in a clique that doesn't really exist in anything but your own mind.
Just my two cents and is why as long as retarded thinking like that continues fanboys will not die.
