I appreciate your two cents. 
My intent was not to troll either. I think the Slim is a great move by Sony and can/will do some great things sales wise. I am just having a hard time with current owners trading in (and as you indicated) paying in excess to the trade in, a better quality console they already own.
As for sales, I can see some great things happening in regards to new adopters.
