That said, nobody can beat the Swamp Thing, and the mere assertion that anyone could, is absurd.

Moore's Batman wouldn't have the edge required to hurt Abby, and that is why Batman couldn't beat the Swamp Thing. That said, being to Abby what Batman was to her, above all other hero's, was a far greater triumph than Superman will ever be able to claim.
