| Cobretti2 said: does it matter at what price it sells at? like people said it aint exacty THAT much of a bargain. 800K in 4 weeks is pretty damn good. People these days have unrealistic expectations. What did you think it would reach 10million by now at full price? Hell alot of Wii games here in aus when they launch now come out under the $100AU mark, otherwise people don't buy them as most in times like this do not wish to spend $100 on a game but yet they will pay 70-90. |
1) This site is VGChartz.. If you are Capcom or a retailer then it matters what price it sells at, yes. This particular bundle is discounted somewhat. The standalone version has been discounted by as much as 59%. That is huge. Capcom are said to have shipped 1 mil copies of the game in Japan. It's now being heavily discounted. If Capcom do get to make another shipment, they will have to sell the games to retailers at significantly LESS than they did for the original shipment. THIS IS LOST REVENUE.
If you are a consumer then it matters at what price it sells at. The cheaper the better.
So either way, it matters. I can't really see why you would think it doesn't.
2) I'm sure Capcom are pleased that you think that 800K is pretty damn good. Unfortunately, they told investors that they expect to sell 2 million copies of the game (non-discounted). If they don't do this then they miss their targets and the product has underperformed. The company has not made the revenue / profit that it predicted it would. Invenstors will NOT think that this is pretty damn good. Nor will Capcom. This title is critical for Capcom in this period.
3) It does not matter what I thought it would or wouldn't sell.
