Just because Capcom expects 2 million doesn't mean that it should reach 2 million. Not even Capcom knew how much of the popularity of the PSP games was gonna transfer to consoles, they just took a guess. The only way it didn't sell well is if Capcom could have done something to make the sales better (i dunno, what do you think?). If this is the best sales they can get on a console, then how can you even call it dissapointing? If we had a history of MH games on consoles selling more than a million I would understand, but we don't. About the initial shipments, that is retailer expectations. I don't know how many times this has to be said. If the shipments are 500k it doesn't mean that Capcom expected it to sell 500k, it means retailers underestimated the demand for the game. Like, d'uh should be headed in your direction, not ours. If developers would control how many games were shipped every game would be a million seller. The retailers are the ones taking the risk of them not being sold, not Capcom. |
Sure, but Capcom have told investors they plan to sell 2 million copies of the game (at full price I might add). If they don't then they they have missed their target.
