^Well, that cartoon does kind of encapsulate the dichotomy in the thought about games.
Some people just look at games as something to just have fun with as typified by many Wii__________ games that do appeal to a wide audience like playing miniature golf does.
And, another group views videogames as the beginning of a new artform or a new medium to tell stories like films and books as typified by games like the Final Fantasies, GTAIV, and Metal Gear Solids and they view the more "fun" games as things that could take away from the new artform that they would like to see become as respected as the other great classics of literature and movies.
