nope, I reckon Nintendo isn't dropping the price because there taking a wait and see approach, you see Nintendo right now is still out selling their competition, and usually around this time of year sales are low, they usually start picking up around September as the holiday season approaches.
Nintendo wants to see if the PS3 and 360 price drops have any major affect on them, plus there hedging their bets that sales will increase once the holiday season is in full swing, and also hoping that New Super Mario Bors Wii moves tones of wii.
There is a risk with taking this wait and see approach, you see there is a 50% possibility that that wii starts moving off shelf's once the holiday season is in full swing along with the release of NSMB wii, and this is great for Nintendo, but their is also the 50% possibility that between PS3 and 360 they can start out selling the wii through the whole holiday season, because of the price cuts, as well as a possibility of these price cuts potentially affecting Wii sales, and this of course is real bad new for Nintendo.
So the risk is that if Nintendo's guess is wrong, and the competition starts out selling them as well as hurting there sales, by the time they actually notice these affects hitting their bottom line, it could be to late for them to react, and in essence risk the potential of completely missing this holiday season, as the competition takes the majority of sales. Of course if this happens, then one can say that Nintendo became to arrogant for their own good and caused them to trip.
Now before people go all mental on me, just remember that it's my opinion, and the possibilities of it going both ways are written there, so take that as you will, but keep in mind that what I've written is a possibility, and as crazy as a possibility may be, there is always a chance that it could happen, hence it being a possibility to begin with, of course it could easy go in Nintendo favour, but that's just how possibilities are.
