While i'm sure the PS3 player as well as a $200+ player have better quality, the mass of consumers won't care or know there's a difference. Afterall, they are watching it on a Vizio or [insert other low end tv maker]. Basicaly price is king.
That's why i always argue that PS3's bluray capabilities are no longer a big impact on why people would buy it over a 360. Games and online socialization (i.e. what do my friends have) are far more important now. PS3 and 360 at same price will still give 360 a sales lead in the long run. At least in NA and other places where it has a decent lead.
