I guess we'll find out if $300 for the PS3 is the sweet price point that allows it to garner a lot of momentum. I kind of think it will, expecially since it's with a new slim model. It will certainly have easily it's best holiday season to date. Whether that's enough to beat the 360 in the US remains to be seen. The 360 is basically made for the American audiance.
The days of the 360 beating the PS3 in Europe and being somewhate close at times in Japan are probably all but over though.
