BTW, it took until about 1987-1988 for third party support on the NES to really take off. I don't just mean because of the game limit on the NES (which was just in the US anyway). I also mean third parties were mainly making their games on systems like the MSX (especially Konami).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
