Nintendos Disruption Strategy and all the rest are falling into the trap!

What a great thread. And it seems that there are a lot of people who understand disruption very well (i only know a little about it).

The only reason i think both Mcrosofts and Sony's counter atack will not work is because, what was known as thier strengths right now will become thier weakness in the mosion control/body control (what ever you want to call it) arena.

And that is mainly third parties. Nintendo have made thier wii succesfull almost through nothing but thier first party software alone. Last Gen not having third parties seemed to be a weaknes but in this new battleground nintendo have forged, it has turned to thier strength. Do Sony or microsoft have the strong first party developers to create games for thier new control mechanisms that will make the average person want to pick up thier systems. I personally doubt it. And if thats the case then they will have to depend on the third parties, which will be a huge weakness.

I say a huge weaknes because it seems anything that may put third parties out of thier comfort zone they want no part of. The way they have shunned the Wii proves this. It doesn't matter what they say about the little machine its clear to me that they really can not think of any creative ideas to bring forward, or rather are too afraid, and we are talking about a motion control device with buttons and and anologue attatchment. What chance do they have against NATAL!!
