| The said: @dgc1808 I think it deserves the hype , and NEEDS it, precisely because it's a niche game, a very hardcore game and it won't have a wide release, all-out marketing campaign. Even if it were to get straight 10s and 9s from the major media outlets (and it WON'T) I doubt its sales would reflect it. Of course it also deserves all the good word of mouth it can get because it really is a VERY good game, and I don't see any other RPG this year in any console holding a candle to it. Sure it's not for everybody, it takes some effort but it's not that hard. I have a friend who's the kind of player that never strays into niche territory, ever. Even worse, my friend stays away from any challenging game, or any "laborious" gameplay that might frustrate him. I have to tell you he loves Demon's Souls, and he thinks of it as one the best games he's ever played! And he's not even that big of a RPG player. |
I'd like it if the game got more attention as well. We know the game won't be a Blockbuster success but some hype would get more games to look into the title. Games like this will come across the average person's attention perhaps once, then the next day they forget all about it. Another bad thing about it is that Atlus is the publisher. They don't really have the money and resources for a good advertising campaign...
