Yesterday it made me sad this thread exists. Today it makes me angry.
There are many , MANY types of games and communities behind PC games that console users could only dream of. Not long ago, people used PC gaming as a benchmark for up and coming genres and video game trends. You are both a sad and naive person if you can't understand why people like PC games.
Do you like your Halo? Thank every single FPS released on the computer that inspired game developers to try and push the envelope.
Do you like your Fallout 3? Thank Fallout 1 +2 + Bethesda's success on the PC platform.
Do you like your (insert genre here), because chances are its roots are tied into the PC platform.
The truth is that both PC games and console's have their place in the market. You can't say that only console games are true gamers, because honestly if you think that ,you haven't seen the amount of hours people have sunk into games like World of Warcraft and Everquest. You can't say that only console games have a good community; Games like neverwinter nights 2 are carried by a strong fan base and constantly created player content.
If your as old as me (mid 20's,) you can still remember a point in gaming history where all of the best graphical experiences were to be had on the PC.
And lastly, you are completely ignoring several genre's of video games if you can't understand why people are frothing at the mouth over Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. Lets see how many copies SC2 sells before you keep running your mouth about the death of the PC platform.
