Euh, no. Sony dropped the price because the consumer thaught it wasn't worth it. Just like the GC did, because Nintendo had too.
The wii hasn't dropped in price because the consumer does (still) think it's worth the price - Nintendo's marketing is supreme.
A console (or product) drops it's price to lengthen the curve of falling demand. The quicker you're forced to do this, the weaker the consumer demand (of the console - or product) is.
