Daily Update Posted: Today just updated the game of the day, and reformatted a bit. The poll about why people aren't commenting was still getting votes about the chart being too hard to follow, so I took out two unnescary columns on the right. Also posted a description of how to read the chart, and linked the index to the posts each platform's chart is in (If anybody can tell me how I could just make the link move to the post in the thread, instead of viewing only that specific post please let me know). Hopefully these changes makes it easier to follow. Also, it seems that the little bit of discussion the Game of the Day started has died down instead of picking up steam like I hoped. I'm going to keep doing updates until Sunday but if by then comments haven't picked up again, I will have to finally let this thread die.

Description: In honor of the recent release of Metroid Prime Trilogy; Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is today's Game of the Day. Metroid Prime 3 holds the dubious honor of being the only Nintendo first party Wii title in the chart to see a decrease in sales this gen. It's a relatively small decrease of ~14%, but still worth noting. What is the reason for the decrease in sales? Was it the slightly less praising reviews the game recieved, releasing in the slow summer sales period, or does the Wii user base not have as many "core" gamers as the Gamecube? Let me know what you think.
My Take: I think a big part of the decrease, is the fact that Metroid Prime was bundled with the Gamecube for awhile. We've talked about games like Forza 2, who look like they've really increased in popularity this gen because of being bundled. Metroid Prime 3 suffers from the opposite. Also, throw in the fact that Metroid Prime was the revival of a franchise, that would get fans curious to try to see how the new mechanics work, but didn't pick up the later games, and the sales of Metroid Prime would be a lot lower, and Metroid Prime 3 would probably be around even, or maybe have seen a slight increase in sales this gen.
