The Wii does a great job at moving Nintendo games, party games, and family games. I think the PSP still has the edge when it comes to moving core software. |
While that might technically be true, although the PSP has a pretty poor attach ratio--IIRC it's around 2--the problem is the lack of support. Third parties threw almost all of their core/hardcore games at the HD consoles, so the core gamers bought those; while putting spin-offs and "casual" games on the Wii, which the core audience ignored. Nintendo put their best games on the Wii--obviously they won't support the competition--so Nintendo's core fans bought the Wii, which is why Nintendo continues to do well with their own hardware.
If third parties were to put more core games on the Wii, they could lure core gamers to the machine; but after putting so many core games on other platforms, they'd rather just keep supporting those. Sucks, doesn't it?
