CGI-Quality said: In fact, I REALLY don't see how these were two of Sony's better non-owned developers. Sure Heavenly Sword is fantastic, as is Folklore. But these two developers are even that well known amongst the Sony community, so I don't get it.
And Sony owns all these company's IPs, they could just get one of their own studios, or other 2nd Party studios to take them over... |
I'm sorry, but BS. Real Sony fans survived off of Heavenly Sword and Folklore for a solid year. Those games were and still are amazing, and two of my favorite PS3 exclusives.
Sure, those two might not be as important financially, as other Sony exclusives, but for guys like you and I, we really know that these are some of the better developers in the industry, even if they don't necessarily shine amongst Sony's top talent. Shit, imagine how good FL or HS would be with the budget they gave to Gurilla for KZ2.
You see my point, I know. Don't flame the damn developers over this shit. It's wrong.

What?! Heavenly Sword and Folklore were not the largest titles in 2007. Not close. Folklore was largely ignored and Heavenly Sword was beaten to bits.

I didn't say that. I said they were the two games we survived off of, as PS3 owners. In fact, I specifially mentioned that they weren't that big financially. People who knew what to play, played those games, though.

Although, no one is flaming the developers and if what you said is true, then too few know what to play as only 200k copies of Folklore were sold. I would say you'd have a stronger case for Warhawk moreso than Folklore though. Warhawk still has a fanbase that plays still.
