I'm glad you came back to the game and got past your initial control shock. The Wii FPS controls pioneered by MP3 are a shock for the first 30 minutes or so, but after you adapt, it starts to feel soooo gooooood.
As for difficulty, the normal difficulty in MP3 is really easy mode. A couple bosses might kill you once or twice, but it should be pretty smooth sailing. If you're any good at games, or want to get your butt kicked a little, you should play on veteran.
And once you unlock hypermode difficulty... well, I'm impressed by anybody who beats the game on that setting. I threw in the towel on the last boss of Bryyo.
Can't wait to get the Trilogy and play the whole series over again.
