If you can get over the expense (given I own a PC for other reasons anyway, the cost of turning it into a gaming rig isn't that much extra), PCs have many advantages over consoles:
Higher resolutions
More choice of inputs (many games, especially multiplats, support the 360 controller natively, for those who can't give up the controller)
Games are moddable
30yr catalog of games to play (and if you get into emulation, pretty much every system except for this and last gen is playable too)
Of course there are disadvantages, but it isn't like consoles don't have their disadvantages. My PC sits under the TV along side my consoles, and is just another system for enjoying my games on.
