The only thing they added to the GameCube version after they decided to port TP for the Wii was the intro with the fishing lure and stuff. Supposedly, the game started a little bit differently before.
The rest of the game was made entirely from the GameCube and ported to Wii though.
Well, actually, I think what you meant to say is that the game was finished on the Wii, but development mostly started on the GameCube platform. This is true.
