As harsh as it sounds, if Sony dissapeared it really wouldn't affect the market that greatly as things have become what they are. What few franchises are still married to it would either be cancelled or just easily ported. There would be a lot of sour gamers, but you know what, the same happened to Atari and the same happened to Sega, people will move on.
