Not really... (thats my response to Malstrom)

Why does blue ocean theory sound a lot like your typical marketing/business ideals of finding untapped markets with less competition and the reward in general for 'give the people what they want'?

I like how his analogy with the Gamecube how he completely forgets that the PS2 completely dominated last generation and towards the end made ports unneccessary.

I like how he forgets that the Wii from the perspective of a western publisher with little market penetration in Japan has got closer to 44M Wii vs 50M for the Xbox 360 + PS3 and god knows how many applicable sales the Xbox 360 + PC or HD + PC combination brings.

I like how he assumes that every new gamer is a Wii gamer. What about WoW, Sims, and your general kids growing up with gaming?

Why does he talk about the hardcore so much? I thought he made it clear that he thinks they are irrelevant.

I see a lot of hate and bile being spewed at Prius drivers, yet noone calls them new car drivers. I see a lot of hate being spewed at Mac users and yet noone calls them new computer users.

It really amuses me that he doesn't understand that from a third party perspective, the closer the systems are the better ecosystem for them. Since he likes Japan a lot, how come he doesn't realise that the 'nail which sticks up is the first to be hammered down'.

Why don't you ask him?  Clarify those questions a bit, and email them to him, he'll probably answer you on his page
