I (and probably others) would take your predection much more seriously if you could name an instance of any console in history that (in any region) sold more units in its fourth year than it did in its first three combined.
I can think of a very similar instance where no difference was made. Gamecube cut its price and released two of Nintendo's biggest franchises in 2003 (MarioKart and Zelda). GC got a bump, but when that bump ended it slipped into oblivion.
