Vgchatz numbers are not accurate, never were, never will be. They get adjusted and estimates get placed on them weekly and then adjusted whenever official data comes in. They are a indication, nothing more. Anyone using Vgchartz numbers in any sort of factual argument has lost before they even started. Several key sites like Neogaf posting Vgchartz numbers is bannable because of the inaccuracy, post them on IGN and get mocked and laughed at etc... I am not trying to undermind ioi's work, he's doing a service and the best he can, but the facts are the facts and Vgchartz numbers are just not to be trusted and are not credible. |
Where am I using vg chartz numbers in a factual argument? The TC asked when the numbers would be adjusted and I told him when and why they were today. Why don't you learn to analyze the reason that I posted that particular information? Nothing in my post is about accuracy or credibility. My post = he adjusted them today. Learn to read. |
Ok, I'll just assume that your reading comprehension is not up to standard. I never said "you" I said "anyone" who uses the data as factual info is wrong. I was being informative, not criticizing your post.
VGcharts make estimates, just like you or me, they display their estimates, sometimes they are close, sometimes they are way off. The numbers whether adjusted or not should be taken with a grain of salt and used as indication purposes only, imo.
Media Create and NPD are the accurate places to get data and Europe data gets passed on from charts track, Gk and Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo themselves.
