The 360 has already been available at a much lower price than the competition for a long, long time and cutting the price of the most expensive model won't work miracles like the last time when they cut all the SKU's at once.
The Elite will certainly sell more but the impact won't be nearly big enough for it to ever be able to touch the Wii in hardware sales.
