I'd say so.

Just by looking at it, for 50 bucks more one can get a crap load of of extras with the PS3, so really anyone who isn't moved by motion controls and has no affinity to Nintendo games, and is just strapped for cash but still wants a console as well as a bang for their buck will be easily enticed to pick up a PS3...Nintendo just needs to drop the Wii by at least 50 bucks, that way there will be a 100 bucks difference which isn't as easy overcome as 50.

Just my 2 cents

Someone who cares about these "crapload of extras", that most Wii users don't, but doesn't care about motion controls, or Nintendo games, wouldn't have ever bought a Wii anyways.

Consumers don't walk into a store wanting to buy "some console". They want to buy things that they are interested in. If they want Wii Fit, or Wii Sports Resort, the PS3 or 360 could be $99, but for them, it would be totally worthless.

For someone who hates motion controls, and wants HD graphics, even a 99$ Wii would be too expensive.

The price cut will eat into the 360 sales, because the two consoles has a very similar, almost identical userbase.

I'm curious, maybe we will even see Malstrom's prediction come true once, about PS3 being cheaper than the Wii.
