I thought Sony's main money is from software not hardware... selling console for a loss was a long time practice for sony.... don't they get most of their money from licensing?

Thet requiers the revenues from software and licensing to be bigger then the losses from hardware. Since the division has red numbers then losses of hardware > revenues of licens and software.

The modell of selling loads of machines with a loss only works if the earnings from software, licenses and extras is bigger. Yes selling a printer at a loss is good if the ink generates more money.

BUT, once again ................the WHOLE division is in RED wich means that the losses overall are bigger then the revenues over all. This fopr the third year in a row and going for forth.
