Battle system was neat, but it all got old for me after a while. I'd story was unique, but nothing to get excited about.

I disagree wholeheartedly. Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey are fantastic games. Not as good as Valkyria in my opinion, but awesome games nonetheless.
