Zelda has never been about the combat. I really don't want it turned into a linear action game. I'd much rather it stay an action-adventure with average combat, than it turn into a linear action game with excellent combat. Oh and before you say, it can stay action-adventure. Let me note something. Every SINGLE one of the games you mentioned is strictly an Action game. The reason why? It is very hard to excel in multiple areas like that, and it takes a lot of money and time to do as such. So you'll have to choose one or the other, and rarely have both.

To be honest, I cannot see a zelda game working where you are jumping doing flips and stuff while attacking like most ARPG and Action games have it as. I want combat to stay strictly grounded, and you could advance it from there. Wii Motion plus is a great idea because it allows for an extension to the combat without putting too much work or resources into it, or compromising the basis of the series.

Oh and there have been spells in Zelda games since Zelda II, so I don't see what the problem is there. They could always bring them back if they want.

Edit: One thing I do agree with is weapon variety though. Maybe an extra 3 or 4 would be nice.
