True, however, you can't install Linux or any other OS on the console with the slim, it has NO increase in technical specs, confirmed, and it also might have many bugs that need worked out, but the phat has proven that it doesn't.
You're right, I'm not flaming people who choose the slim, I'm just saying that for the time being, it's easier(already out) and much much safter to just buy a phat, since the slim gives no significant pluses.
...cause the new PS3s, and I don't know if you knew, not the slims, are quiet as a damn mouse already. Have been for about a year.
