Saying product A is the worst selling since product B implies can imply two things, either that product A was the worst selling until product B or that product B is the worst selling product in the line after and including product A.  Granted the first implication is more often used but I figured that since FFVII is obviously the best selling FF ever, it was obvious the second was the implication but I guess not. 

So far the big PS3 games in Japan have barely caused 10-20k bumps in sales so the ability of FFXIII to move millions seems quite debatable.  As to the presence of the $430 PS3, I think FFXIII will, even at its lowest sales levels, far outsell the number of 20GB PS3's in Japan rendering its presence pointless (assuming it isn't discontinued like elsewhere).  The price will probably be lower so I'll correct my original statement and say I think you're grossly overestimating the ability of any game, including FF, to move a $500 system.
