The guy makes a good point, I guess he's only getting flak because what he is saying is blasphemy to the ears of fanboys with no sense of reason....

One thing is clear, new 3rd party IP aimed at the core doesn't sell well on wii, what does have good sales to a degree is well established IP from popular 3rd party franchises which is aimed at the core, like COD:WaW and resident evil 4 on wii.

So like I said before, Nintendo hasn't expanded the market as a whole, what they'd done is expanded a particular segment, the causals and then offered a console which has them as their primary audience.

Put it this way, if the market was truly expanded as claimed, then games like the conduit, mad world, and no more hereos would have done better than they have, they wouldn't have set the world on fire but definitely done better, but what we actually have is a segment of the market , the casuals, that are not interested in any traditional core games, instead games have to be tailored specifically to this new market in order for them to sell, these tailored games however in general don't appeal to the core gamers. Their still exist a core on the wii, but this core is like the article says are there for the Nintendo made games. For those core who only own the wii, then these may be the ones buying core games, but clearly their isn't enough of them to make a significant effect, but at this stage most core owners own a wii plus a 360 or PS3 so they can get the core games they want.

I know allot of people will disagree, so take what I said as you like it.
