Yes, Kaz said so himself, that's why the name is Gran Turismo and not Gran Turismo Spyder or Gran Turismo _____ as they thought of naming it, because it's a mainline game.
And even if he didn't say anything, 800+cars, 35+tracks should be enough to tell you that it's a mainline game.
