I'm an atheist, and I know plenty of fundies that are this ignorant, but this is a parody to prove poes law. Which has been done quite successfully, seeing as how I saw this video on the Richard Dawkins Forums earlier this week. While slimebeast can claim victory on this one, it still says something about how religious fundementalism is rapidly aging in modern society. I live in Kentucky, and I can say that what is portrayed in this is a reality in many places you go. Granted this only applies to fundementalists and not liberal christians, but there are no shortage of fundementalists in the US. There are an abundance of legitimate websites (like answers in genesis) and spokespeople that would be completely impossible to discern as parody or reality when put next to things such as this. When it's impossible to tell a joke from reality, then the reality has become the joke. |
No, just stop it. There are extreme cases among any sub-group be it christians, muslims, commies, racial minorities, environmentalists, nazis, liberals, peace activists, animal activists, freedom fighters, nationalists, psychologists, social workers, politicians and so on. There's fundamentalists in all these groups I listed.
"There are an abundance of legitimate websites (like answers in genesis) and spokespeople that would be completely impossible to discern as parody or reality when put next to things such as this" is just mean and ill-witted.
You are burnt and ashamed that you were a religious zealot. Psychologically speaking, it seems you're trying to over-compensate for your past errors. Your criticism aint valid.
