Better than Halo
Is that something to strive for? Being better than a mundane FPS?

It's a collection of mini games, nothing more. It's awesome at what it does though, just don't start talking about this like it's one of Nintendo's best games, it's just shovel ware from a legendary developer.

Though you may think of Halo 3 as a mundane shooter, the overall gaming community does not, as represented by the 10 million sold.

And while Wii sports resort IS a collection of mini games, it's ridiculous to call it shovelware. It is a AAA title, and is a game that can move Nintendo's new casual market to upscale to more core games. With the exception of puzzle solving, most of the mechanics of a Zelda game are here, exploring, shooting arrows, sword fighting. This is not only a great game itself, but it uses the Wii Sports environment to teach players skills that they would need to enjoy more core experiences. There are skills taught here to casual gamers they could use in a WaveRace game, a flight game, a lightsaber game. And though most games are easy enough for the casual player, there is great difficulty for a core gamer to enjoy as well (level 18 swordfighting anyone?)

Tying everything together with the island is no accident, this is a phenomenal example of a bridge title to help turn new "casual" gamers into gamers.

BAM! There it is!
