I honestly think it's because it's not as easy as it sounds, you have to walk a provverbial tightrope. Even thought they get criticised for overusing or milking some of their IPs, Nintendo has gotten very good at walking this tightrope. What i mean is that you need to stay true or loyal to the roots of a franchise in order to satisfy the fans of the first/previous game (that's the market you are going for) but at the same time it can't be too similar or you will be accused of lacking originality.

And honestly, looking at that list, Sony does seem to reuse most of it's BIG IPs. Increased development costs this gen means that they are unlikely to re-use some of their smaller, more niche franchises.
