It's not the same game, dammit. How can you call an RPG/platforming mixture and a true platformer the same game? They are completely different! Your analogy is rubbish. I don't say I want NSMBWii to contain some rpg elements and have a main city were I can always go back to, all I am saying is that I would prefer this artstyle instead of the one used! everyone seems to understand that except you.
