I tried it with three of my friends and my bro on a hacked Wii, we had hours of fun. We pulled out combos we never thought was possible at the time, and we compared all the characters/mechanics/stages from back then to now (where is my Hyrule Castle Ninty?!). It was a very interesting evening, and we had a better time playing this than any other games that same night. Nostalgia can do you anything man. Isn't that the point of Virtual Console anyways? If I follow your logic: F-Zero GX > F-Zero X? We all know F-Zero GX had more features and has better gameplay mechanics, so there's no questioning there! ;) |
F-Zero GX had terrible controls compared to X though... the entire set of ships seemed to have been made with less grip so that you had to make one of your own (terrible looking things)
F-Zero GX also lost one of the greatest bits of X, even if it was incredibly simple, the Death Race was awesome, in fact it could be because it was incredibly simple... as the equivalent in GX was the silly twisty course where you have to down 30 of Michael Chain (I think that's the right character) look-a-likes
Apart from the stadard ship controls, and the lack of the old death race and the track set is perhaps a little below F-Zero X too, then GX is the better game.... unfortunately it is only the better game where it counts less.
