Not at all. PS3 vs X360 is different from PS2 vs Xbox. PS2 dominated the whole market while X360 only had 60% of market share (not counting Wii). PS2 win all markets but X360 lose in Japan and only slightly more in Europe. PS3 also had stronger 1st party game than X360. I think both PS3 and X360 will be discontinued at the same year.
